In my case, at least, it got it right too.Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11985908158175489080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4977145093301949835.post-35157883857903359062009-02-05T02:05:00.000-08:002009-02-05T02:09:42.190-08:00Bill Gates releases mosquitoes into audienceBill Gates' press office have confirmed that he released mosquitoes into the audience at TED2009 and said "Not only poor people should experience this" as part of his presentation about malaria eradication.

Full article - Bill Gates releases mosquitoes into audienceBeckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11985908158175489080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4977145093301949835.post-76826461336714444182009-02-03T03:49:00.000-08:002009-02-03T03:53:43.595-08:00Netbooks - have I just spotted "The One"?Typical - I finally got round to starting a techie blog, and have just found out that Asus are shortly to be launching a new EEE PC with a 9.5 hour battery life.

I have been eyeing up netbook deals for a while, and have a sneaking suspicion that this might be "The One" when it launches. Asus EEE PC 1000HE

It will be interesting to read a few more reviews and find out if it's really as good as it sounds.

BBeckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11985908158175489080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4977145093301949835.post-69768873166447466532009-02-03T03:14:00.000-08:002009-02-03T03:21:55.835-08:00Cloud computing, and the reason behind the blog namingIt's just occurred to me that "Girl In the Cloud" is a bit of a strange name for a blog, so let me explain.

In my current line of work, I am very much exposed to all that's new in the technology arena, and am learning a lot about hosted / cloud computing solutions at the moment. We are rapidly moving towards a hosted world where servers and on-site infrastructure will no longer be something which the average organisation needs to spend money on or concern themselves with. Microsoft are investing heavily in their Azure platform and other hosted services, as are Google, Amazon, Salesforce et al.

So, girl in the cloud it is. Or will be very soon, at any rate.

BBeckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11985908158175489080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4977145093301949835.post-22725595388136509342009-02-03T03:10:00.001-08:002009-02-03T03:11:00.210-08:00IntroHello World! Well, that's one way to start a techie-ish blog I guess ;)

Recently I seem to have stumbled across a whole world of useful links and articles, and thought it would be useful to keep a note them online, leaving a trail of history for all to see.

I expect to blog a reasonable number of links and comments relating to goings-on in the CRM world, especially updates and commentary relating to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 and related technologies as this is my current area of employment.

BBeckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11985908158175489080noreply@blogger.com0
